Studied composition with Cecil Effinger, Robert McBride, George Crumb, Ronald LoPresti, and Grant Fletcher. Recipient of eleven consecutive ASCAP Standard Panel awards, and cited for “excellence in Music” by the Texas House of Representatives in resolution #131 dated September 24, 2003. Recent album in jazz piano released, 2002. Dr. Hansen was designated a Texas A&M Regents Professor on December 4, 2008.
