UNIVERSITY EXPECTATIONS FOR CEREMONY DECORUM
The academic commencement ceremony at Texas A&M University‐Commerce enjoys a rich tradition and is carried out with solemnity and dignity. All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the occasion and the traditions of academia. In keeping with these traditions and for safety reasons, all candidates must refrain from any outstanding semblance of celebration as they proceed across the stage such as dancing, jumping, or other disruptive activities. Please inform your guests in the audience to refrain from making distracting noises (air horns, noisemakers) during this time since candidates proceed across the stage in a rapid order. Such interruption may override the name of the next graduate. Your cooperation in this matter is sincerely appreciated.
