Alicia Currin Named Vice President of Business and Administration
Alicia Currin has been named vice president of business and administration at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Currin's prior role was chief of staff to the chief executive officer and director of planning and governmental relations. She will serve in an interim capacity until formal approval by the Board of Regents at their Sept. 3 meeting.
With over 33 years of experience in higher education, as well as her experience as a senior administrator, Currin has provided direction in numerous capacities. Her duties have included leadership of the budget office, accounting, bursar's office, and financial reporting as well as human resources, payroll, auxiliary support operations, and audit responses.
“Alicia Currin is extraordinarily well qualified to step into the position of vice president for business and administration,” said A&M-Commerce President Dan R. Jones. “In addition to her encyclopedic knowledge of business affairs at our university, she is recognized statewide for her expertise in the intricacies of higher education funding in Texas. As a native of Commerce, she loves this university and is thrilled to be in a position in which she can help shepherd it to its next level of excellence.”
