Career Development Hosts the Third Annual Administrative Appreciation Tea

The Texas A&M University-Commerce career development office recently held the third annual Administrative Appreciation Tea on July 16. This yearly event is held before the fall semester in honor of the university administrative staff and everything they do. Guests were treated to teas, sweet treats, door prizes and keynote speaker Christine Blackhurst.

“This was a fun event to demonstrate that we value our university administrative staff,” said Tina Boitnott, director of career development. “We at career development wanted to take some time to let our admin know we appreciate them greatly! We came together as a group to enjoy each other's company, share information, and just breath before the fall semester is upon us.”

The administrative staff is the frontline contact for students, faculty, and staff at career development and help to keep the office running smoothly. They provide resources, information, and support to both the office and their many visitors.

“Being the administrative secretary for career development has been a fun job, full of exciting planning opportunities and possibilities. Although I am relatively new in this position I am truly enjoying my job, as well as getting to know some of the wonderful people who work here at A&M-Commerce,” said Nancy Whitlock. “This event was a great opportunity to show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the university administrative staff.”

The career development office at A&M-Commerce provides students with opportunities for enhancing their professional skills and assisting with employment success. Students can attend one of the many events held during the year such as job fairs, career clinics, and networking nights.
