Dr. Steve Williams Named Dean of Business & Entrepreneurship
Dr. Steve Williams has been named Dean of the College of Business & Entrepreneurship at Texas A&M University-Commerce, effective Jan. 6, 2014.
President Dan R. Jones said, “Dr. Williams brings to our university a wealth of experience and an impressive track record of success at institutions like ours. He is the right person to lead the College of Business and Entrepreneurship to its next level of excellence.”
Williams received his Ph.D. in business administration from the University of Nebraska. He most recently served as Dean of the College of Business, Professor of Management and Joel R. Stubblefield Endowed Chair of Business at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. Prior to his work in Arkansas, he served as Dean of the College of Business and Leadership and Professor of Management at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kan.
“An accomplished scholar in the field of management, Dr. Williams brings a wealth of administrative experience, business acumen, visionary leadership and personal strengths to move our College of Business and Entrepreneurship to higher levels of prominence,” said Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Adolfo Benavides. “We are delighted to have him join our leadership as the new Chief Executive, Academic, and Integrity Officer of the college.”
Official approval of this appointment is expected at the Jan. 30, 2014 meeting of The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents. Pending board approval, he will serve as the Acting Dean of the College of Business and Entrepreneurship.
