LEOCON 2014
The Sigma Phi Phi (Syphers) Club at Texas A&M University-Commerce will host LEOCON 2014 on March 29 in the Rayburn Student Center.
This year's theme is Androids, Animals and Aliens. Guests Dr. Sherryl Vint of the University of California, fantasy author Martha Wells and effects artist Nathan Arbuckle will be in attendance to speak about their work in the science fiction realm. This year's convention also features student talks, workshops, gaming, a costume contest and a dance in the Science Building lobby.
“LEOCON is in its third year, bringing amazing speakers to campus,” said Professor of Literature & Languages Robin Reid. “It also gives students the chance to present on some area of science fiction/fantasy that they love, from video gaming to digital publishing.”
LEOCON lasts all day, and it will be Spirit Approved. The event is free to all A&M-Commerce students, alumni and minors. There is a $5 entry fee for faculty, staff and the public.
