Raised in Pittsburg, Texas, aspiring podiatrist Trinity Campbell says she was hesitant and uncertain when she arrived at A&M-Commerce. How did the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences help you prepare for your career?

The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences prepared me exponentially for podiatric medical school. I received an outstanding education in the sciences and unwavering support from many faculty and staff in the department.

Describe an experience at A&M-Commerce that shaped your personal and professional growth.

Winning first place for my poster presentation in cell biology at the 8th Annual LSUS Regional Student Scholars Forum significantly shaped my personal and professional growth by affirming my ability to communicate complex ideas effectively. This achievement highlighted my expertise in the subject matter and strengthened my confidence in presenting research findings.

What are your plans after graduation?

I’m looking forward to attending Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. While there, I plan to build a strong foundation in podiatric medicine through my clinical experiences and comprehensive curriculum. My goal is to actively engage in clinical rotations, network with professionals and stay updated on advancements, ultimately aiming for a successful career as a podiatric physician.

What is your advice for students attending A&M-Commerce?

Embrace curiosity in your studies, stay open-minded and always ask questions. Remember not to be too hard on yourself; setbacks are part of learning.
