A&M-Commerce Takes Home Win in 2015 Calculus Bowl

Eleven students, making up a total of three teams, represented Texas A&M University-Commerce as they brought home a first and fourth place win at the Calculus Bowl competition in San Antonio, Texas. The competition, held in conjunction with the 95th annual Conference of the Texas Section of the Mathematics Association of America, hosted 28 teams from 17 universities around the state of Texas.
“I am extremely proud of the 11 students who represented A&M-Commerce in San Antonio,” said Lymeda Singleton, team advisor. “The odds were against them with a late spring break and practice cancelations due to bad weather, but they pulled it together and came out on top again.”
In addition to the awards, faculty and students at the conference gave a total of eleven presentations out of the 84 total at the conference. This year's team was advised by Mrs. Lymeda Singleton, coached by Dr. Charles Dorsett and assisted by Mr. Joshua Patter and Dr. Rebecca Dibbs. The annual conference is a major collegiate event for math faculty, graduate and undergraduate math students in Texas.
