A&M System Board of Regents Recognizes National Champion A&M-Commerce Football Team

The Board of Regents of the Texas A&M University System honored the A&M-Commerce Lions football team at their board meeting held on Thursday, February 8.

The Board issued a resolution highlighting the Lions' 2017 accomplishments, which included winning the NCAA Division II National Football Championship, a 14-1 season overall, a historic 10-game winning streak, and being the first team to ever win the “Triple Crown” of the Harlon Hill Trophy, Elite 90, and National Championship in the same year, among many others.

Lions head coach Colby Carthel, Athletics Director Tim McMurray, and the Lions football team, who attended the meeting, were presented with signed copies of the Board's resolution.

“We, the members of the Board of Regents of The Texas A&M University System, enthusiastically recognize the extraordinary accomplishments of the Texas A&M University-Commerce Lions Football Team on its outstanding season,” the resolution read.
