Bridging Classrooms and Careers: Nazmush Munia’s Path to Global Impact in Supply Chain

From the classroom to the corporate world, Nazmush Munia is a living testament to East Texas A&M University's mission to transform lives through excellence in education, discovery, and service. A Spring 2024 graduate with a Master of Science in Supply Chain Management from ETAMU, Munia is now applying the knowledge, skills, and confidence she gained at the College of Business in her role as an Order Management Associate at EOS IT Solutions.
Munia credits her time at ETAMU for preparing her to thrive in a fast-paced, interconnected global economy.
“The program offered hands-on learning through real-world projects and ERP tools that aligned perfectly with my career goals,” Munia said. “The experienced faculty, flexible course structure, and strong networking opportunities gave me the foundation I needed to succeed.”
Her current responsibilities include managing purchase orders, tracking shipments, coordinating with vendors, resolving warehouse issues, and supporting internal teams with stock levels and invoicing, each task drawing directly from the applied learning experiences offered at ETAMU.
Drawn initially to the College of Business for its strong academic reputation within the Texas A&M University System, Munia quickly found herself immersed in a vibrant and welcoming campus community.
“The campus always had a festive atmosphere with frequent events and competitions,” Munia recalled. “I made lifelong friends, gained invaluable experiences, and never felt bored.” Among those experiences was winning first prize at the university's 2024 Annual Research Symposium—a moment that marked a turning point in her confidence and passion for research.
Munia's academic journey took another major leap when she co-authored and presented a research paper titled “Soccer Diplomacy: How World Cup Fandom Led to a Restoration of Political Relations Between Argentina and Bangladesh” at the 2025 World Social Science Association Conference in Seattle. Developed under the mentorship of Professor Robert Rodriguez, the project explored how international sports fandom created unexpected diplomatic bridges.
“Presenting in front of global academics was a truly enriching experience,” Munia shared. “It boosted my confidence and deepened my passion for meaningful research.”
Throughout her time in the program, Munia benefited from the mentorship and support of dedicated faculty and staff. Dr. Alex Williams, Department Head, helped her secure a pivotal internship and provided visionary guidance throughout her studies. Professor Marc Scott brought real-world business insight into the classroom, challenging students to think critically and push their boundaries.
As a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research, Munia also worked closely with former Director Alison Soeder, refining essential skills in time management, research, and professional communication. Robert Rodriguez, who guided her Soccer Diplomacy research, played a key role in helping her bring her academic ideas to a national audience.
Reflecting on her journey, Munia encourages current and future Lions to embrace every opportunity ETAMU offers—from student research and networking events to community involvement and academic mentorship.
“Stay curious, stay excited, and embrace every experience wholeheartedly,” Munia advised. “You never know where even the smallest opportunity might lead. Make the most of your time at ETAMU and enjoy the journey.”
Her story is a shining example of how the College of Business empowers students to lead with knowledge, integrity, and purpose—equipping them not just to succeed in their careers, but to make a meaningful impact on the world.
