College of Business Students Take Part at UTA’s 8th Annual Business Symposium

Under the guidance of Texas A&M University-Commerce Assistant Professor of Business Analytics Dr. Vinayaka Gude, a delegation of six students from the College of Business participated in the 8th Annual Business Analytics Symposium hosted by the University of Arlington (UTA).

Held at the Bluebonnet Ballroom on UTA's campus on March 7, 2024, the symposium convened industry experts and academic leaders to exchange insights on analytics and artificial intelligence (AI), with a particular emphasis on its transformative potential for businesses. Throughout the event, attendees engaged in discussions, attended technology-focused talks and took part in practical workshops.

During the symposium, students from A&M-Commerce had the privilege of attending various tech talks featuring notable industry figures, including Mike Buob of Sogeti, Aamer Charania, and Babar Bhatti from Dallas AI, as well as Steve Roemerman & Matthew N. Bowers from Lone Star Analysis.

Aathira Nair, Graduate Research Assistant and President of the Marketing and Business Analytics Student Organization (MKTBA), expressed appreciation for the opportunity to represent the College of Business at the symposium, highlighting the invaluable networking opportunities and professional development it afforded.

“The MKTBA through the College of Business is always providing students with innovative and exciting opportunities for development and to expand our knowledge beyond the classroom through opportunities such as this and more,” Nair said.

Nair further noted the honor of hearing Rajeshwari Ganeshan, Distinguished Technologist in ML & AI from Infosys, who delivered the keynote address, which explored the operationalization of AI within enterprises.
