Dr. Tara Tietjen-Smith Named President of the National Association for Kinesiology in Higher Education
A&M-Commerce welcomes Dr. Tara Tietjen-Smith as the new president of the National Association for Kinesiology in Higher Education (NAKHE). The mission of NAKHE is “to foster leadership in kinesiology administration and policy related to teaching, scholarship and service in higher education.” Tietjen-Smith previously served as NAKHE vice-president, as co-creator of the Department Head Certification Training (DHCT) program, and on the NAKHE board of directors. She began her two-year term on January 11, 2020. Tietjen-Smith is a professor and department head in the Department of Health and Human Performance at A&M-Commerce.
