Early Childhood Education Online Master’s Program Ranks among Top 50

SuperScholar.org has ranked Texas A&M University-Commerce in the top 50 schools offering an online master's degree in Early Childhood Education.
“We are pleased to receive this distinction for the Early Childhood Education master's program,” said Professor and Head of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Martha Foote. “Our faculty have designed a high quality online program to prepare teachers for teaching children during this critical period for learning and development.”
The program ranked #34 on SuperScholar.org's Smart Choice list. SuperScholar.org considered colleges and universities listed in the National Center for Education Statistics database and evaluated the master's degree programs in early childhood education on affordability, starting salaries of recent graduates, market reputation, awards and flexibility.
“This recognized program focuses on developing early educators and master teachers who understand the developmentally appropriate needs of children and simultaneously know how to provide an enriched environment and the the teacher interactions that will lead to the dispositions and skills in critical thinking, inquiry, creativity, emergent literacy; and, the budding knowledge and skills in the content areas essential to a student's success,” said Dr. Foote. “I appreciate the leadership of Dr. Barbara Hammack, program coordinator for the ECE master's program, as well as the work of team members, Dr. Josh Thompson, Dr. Donna McCrary, Dr. Jennifer Sennette, Dr. Amy Corp, and Dr. David Brown for their work in this stellar program.”
