Honors Day Luncheon 2014
Students in the Texas A&M University-Commerce College of Humanities, Social Sciences and Arts were recently recognized for awards and scholarships they received at the annual Honors Day Luncheon on March 20, 2014. Attendees also heard from alumni guest speaker Lee Anne DeVega and student guest speaker Jill Mobley.
“The event was very successful; we had about 120 people, which is quite a lot more than the past year,” said Dr. Salvatore Attardo, dean of the College of Humanities, Social Sciences and Arts, “It was gratifying to see the students who have received scholarships or an award talking to donors or to the administration of the university. When you see the families of the awardees and the donors sharing their experiences, you realize that we are truly part of the great ‘family' of Texas A&M University-Commerce.”
The luncheon is held every year to recognize the recipients of endowed scholarships and the students who have been honored both on and off campus. It is also a time to show gratitude to the donors who have endowed the scholarships.
