Successful Spring Kickoff: MKTBA Student Organization Welcomes College of Business Community

In celebration of the commencement of the Spring 2024 semester at Texas A&M University-Commerce, the Marketing and Business Analytics Student Organization (MKTBA) hosted a highly successful welcome party on February 1st at the Dallas location.

The event, which drew more than 50 attendees, comprised a diverse assembly of prospective and current MKTBA members, along with several members of the College of Business faculty and staff. Among the attendees were Scott Wheeler, interim dean of the College of Business, Dr. Guclu Atinc, interim associate dean and professor of management, Dr. Zaki Malik, department head and professor of business analytics, Dr. Son Bui, professor of business analytics and faculty advisor for the MKTBA student organization and Dr. Chris Myers, professor of marketing and business analytics.

Throughout the occasion, the MKTBA leadership team presented the organization’s mission, goals and plans for the forthcoming semesters, encompassing a spectrum of workshops, activations and numerous competitions. The event also featured a dynamic Q&A session, fostering direct engagement between participants and the distinguished guests, which also included academic advisors from the college.

As one of the largest student organizations within the College of Business, MKTBA is dedicated to promoting the study of marketing and business analytics through comprehensive programs that include professional development, networking opportunities and community engagement. Aathira Nair, president of the Marketing and Business Analytics Student Organization and Master of Business Analytics student, expressed her enthusiasm.

“It was a pleasure to welcome not only returning students but also new and prospective members to our Welcome Party,” Nair said. “As a student organization, we are committed to creating positive experiences that foster both personal and professional growth through the activations, workshops, networking opportunities and collaborations we facilitate.”
