Updated 2022 Schedule Announced for Lion Soccer
COMMERCE – A revised schedule for the Texas A&M University-Commerce soccer team has been announced on Monday afternoon, following a shift in membership within the Southland Conference.
The Lions play a preseason exhibition match against Sam Houston in Frisco, which is now scheduled for 11 a.m. on August 11 at the Toyota Soccer Center.
The five regular season non-conference matches remain the same for the Lions. The season begins with A&M-Commerce’s first Division I contest on August 18 at Oral Roberts. The Lions’ home opener is on August 21 against Louisiana-Monroe and they host UTSA on August 25. A trip to the Mountain State to take on Colorado on September 1 and Colorado College on September 4, closes out non-conference play.
The first Southland Conference contest that A&M-Commerce will play in comes on September 9 at home against Houston Baptist. The following weekend, A&M-Commerce is on the road to take on McNeese (September 16) and Lamar (September 18).
To close out September, Northwestern State and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi come to Commerce on September 25 and 30, respectively. The Lions head to Nicholls on October 2, before hosting Southeastern Louisiana on October 9, and Lamar on October 14.
The close out the road portion of the regular season schedule, the Lions go on a three-match road swing to Northwestern State (October 16), Incarnate Word (October 21), and Houston Baptist (October 23). A&M-Commerce close out the regular season and hosts Senior Day against McNeese on October 28.
The Southland Conference Tournament takes place in Natchitoches, Louisiana, on the campus of Northwestern State on November 2-6.
