Yoga on the Lawn
The Fitness and Recreational Activity program at Texas A&M University-Commerce will be hosting Yoga on the Lawn on Wednesday, October 1, from 8am to 1pm. Each session begins at the top of the hour and lasts about 45 minutes each. Participants may bring their own mat or use one of the mats provided at the event. All fitness levels are encouraged to attend.
“Yoga on the Lawn is an opportunity for the university to take a short break from their daily schedule to help center their mind and body through yoga and meditation,” said Lauren Rhodes, FRA coordinator. “It is also a great opportunity for students and the university community to experience a yoga practice similar to what is offered by our department through FRA courses.”
Yoga courses offered through the FRA program count for 1 credit hour and last through the semester. FRA courses help students stay physically active, meet semester hour requirements, and improve their overall GPA for the semester. Students interested in these courses should register through their MyLeo accounts once registration opens for the upcoming semester.
The event will be held at the amphitheater and is open to all members of the university community including students, faculty, and staff. For more information about the event or FRA courses, contact Lauren Rhodes at [email protected].
