Whether students are doing research for a class or brushing up on their trivia abilities, I am here to help them become better researchers. I can teach students how to identify, assess and organize sources for whatever project they have.

A Conversation with Emily

What is something you enjoy about working at A&M-Commerce?

I love the environment and sense of community here. Everyone has been extremely warm and welcoming since I started working here. I’ve felt like a part of the university since the beginning, rather than just another newcomer.

Why did you choose your career?

My high school librarian suggested librarianship as a professional option and set me on this path. I’ve always enjoyed seeking out knowledge and helping folks discover new things. I can’t imagine a better career than one that allows me to learn new things while teaching others how to do the same. While studying for my master’s degree, I volunteered at my local library, which helped me affirm that becoming a librarian would be a blast. The opportunity to work as a librarian in an academic library is a dream come true.
