Application Process

If you have been accepted to the university, you may apply for student housing at Texas A&M University - Commerce through your MyLeo account and choosing the Residential Living and Learning Housing Application link. For guidance logging in, use this PDF tutorial. Please be aware that you will have to pay the $100 application fee when you apply.

We guarantee beds for incoming 1st year students who graduated high school within the last academic year since they are required to reside on-campus that apply prior to August 1. All other new students/residents are not guaranteed housing. The wait list for new residents will open when beds are filled.

Once you have applied and paid the $100 application fee, you will receive a timeslot for room selection. Timeslots will start mid-May and are based on the date the application fee was paid. For step-by-step instructions, please use this PDF tutorial.

REQUIREMENTS:

All full-time, first and second year undergraduate students, who enroll at the university within one year of high school graduation, are required to live on campus. A Commuter Authorization Request will be honored if a first year student is living with a Parent or Legal Guardian within 50 miles or less than one hour travel time from campus. If a student enters a housing contract during their first year, they will be required to live on campus for their second year unless they receive an exemption through the Contract Release Request.

Exemption requests for first year students who are married, have children, or other extenuating circumstances can also be made through the Contract Release Request.

The Commuter Authorization Form and Contract Release Request are located on the housing application found in myLEO.

2017-2018 Housing Contract - provided as a reference. The contract is electronically signed within the online application.

Meal Plan
All first year students, who enroll at the university within one year of high school graduation,  are required to purchase an Unlimited or 19 Convenience Meal Plan for the full academic year. The Unlimited meal plan allows students to swipe in the cafeteria as many times a week as they would like during operating hours. The 19 Convenience Meal Plan allows for a student to swipe their card for one meal, one time during each meal time, at any of the eating establishments on campus. Both options come with FLEX cash that students can use to purchase food and drinks in any of the dining establishments.
