A&M-Commerce Student Named Terrell ISD Chief of Police

A&M-Commerce student Jerry Valladarez was recently sworn in as the Terrell ISD Chief of Police. Valladarez has been with Terrell ISD since 2013 as a campus police officer.

For the 26 years prior, he worked in the Wilmer Police Department, the Dallas County Police Department and the Mesquite Police Department. Additionally, he served in the Army Reserves. Valladarez looks forward to continuing to serve Terrell ISD and the community.

Valladarez is a student in the competency-based criminal justice program at A&M-Commerce and will graduate in 2022.

The competency-based criminal justice program is an online, accelerated degree plan. The self-paced courses allow students to work according to their own schedules as they develop critical skills for careers as first responders.
