Dr. Anissa Guerin has more than a decade of experience serving in various academic and leadership roles assisting higher education institutions in developing creative initiatives to raise completion rates, improve skills training programs, and expand educational experiences for aspiring leaders. Though she has worn many hats, teaching is her passion. She is devoted to helping students overcome the most challenging obstacles and embraces academia’s mission with lucidity and compassion. What would you tell a student who is considering A&M-Commerce?

“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life!” I love what I do. I get to teach, mentor, and encourage learners to thrive and achieve academically. Witnessing minds develop into knowledgeable, self-assured, and confident higher education professionals is gratifying. This profession is more than a job; it is my passion and calling, offering an immense sense of contentment and fulfillment. I get to enhance the lives of others, advance society, and improve my personal and professional development.

What has been your favorite course to teach?

Any Student Affairs or Higher Education Administration course because they prepare students to become phenomenal leaders in academia. Students can also learn theories and strategies that promote successful student matriculation, manage administrative policies and investigate future trends.
