Hongmei Jia holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Kentucky. Prior to joining Texas A&M University-Commerce, Jia taught auditing and financial accounting at Louisiana Tech University. She has over 10 years of professional experience and has worked as a controller in an international manufacturing company.

What has been your favorite course to teach?

“I love all the courses. My philosophy is to teach students to ‘learn how to learn.’ I firmly believe my role is to help students succeed in my classes and, more importantly, to succeed in their future careers. I believe education is the most powerful element to shape a person's life. I deeply appreciate that I can take a small role during this exciting journey for my students.”
