Dr. Nahid Hasan didn’t plan on becoming a teacher. That changed when he began instructing as a doctoral student. As he found joy in sharing knowledge, seeing students grasp challenging concepts and making a meaningful impact through education, he fell in love with teaching and decided to become a professor.

His passion for teaching and research is equaled only by his commitment to mentor and help students succeed. He believes every student has the potential to excel and achieve their goals with the proper guidance and support.

What would you tell a student who is considering A&M-Commerce?

What has been your favorite course to teach?

Statistical Methods has been a significant part of my teaching experience. I’ve found it particularly enjoyable to introduce students to statistics, helping them build a solid foundation in this essential field. Teaching students who are just starting their journey in statistics and seeing their interest as they grasp fundamental concepts is a wonderful experience.

Tell us about a project you are currently working on or recently completed.

In the summer of 2023, I defended my doctoral dissertation. I examined synergy and antagonism within various log-linear models, including hierarchical, non-hierarchical and non-standard models. I also explored the implications of synergy and antagonism in various fields, including epidemiology and drug combination studies.
