The East Texas A&M Agriculture Academy at Dallas College is a unique partnership and brings affordable and sustainable agricultural instruction to Dallas students. In the Agriculture Academy, you can complete certain degree programs in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources by taking courses first at Dallas College and then transferring to East Texas A&M. Explore Our Programs at Dallas College
Agribusiness (BS)
In our program, explore how business and agriculture intersect. We focus on topics like financial management, marketing, planning and organizational strategies. Study the technical aspects of agricultural sciences, helping you understand the production, processing, and distribution of agricultural products. This background can support opportunities in areas such as agribusiness, agricultural finance, extension services, ranch operations and related agencies or consultancies.
Agricultural Sciences (BS)
In our program, you'll explore topics like economics, management, plant and animal operations, pest control, and food sciences. You'll have the opportunity to study how plant and animal products are produced, used, and marketed. This background may support paths in areas such as agricultural services, sales, landscape operations, extension work, ranch management, food production, and quality control.
Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems (BS)
In the Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems program, you'll explore ways to support a more sustainable future in agriculture through both classroom learning and hands-on experience. You'll have the opportunity to study topics like hydroponics and urban agriculture, with some courses available at the Dallas location, as you gain the ability to prepare for a range of possibilities in the evolving agricultural field.

Eligibility and Admission
Students completing their first two years of coursework at Dallas College and those with AAS credentials in agricultural fields are encouraged to apply for the East Texas A&M Agriculture Academy.
If accepted into the Agriculture Academy, you will complete courses in Dallas, supported in your studies through a cohort learning community. After your junior year, you will complete your last year of courses online or on the Commerce campus.
To enter the academy, you must first apply and be accepted to Dallas College. After acceptance, you must prequalify for the East Texas A&M Agriculture Academy.
If you meet the minimum requirements for the academy (as determined by Dallas College), you will receive an email notification containing the East Texas A&M Agriculture Academy application link.
Transfer pathway/curriculum
Each program in the East Texas A&M Agriculture Academy features a unique curriculum consisting of classes at both Dallas College and East Texas A&M. Although there may be several options to fulfill certain requirements for the associate degree, please note that these pathways list the specific courses leading to each bachelor's degree. All plans can be modified to fit the needs of part-time students. These are not official degree plans. Refer to the catalog for official degree requirements. You must receive a GPA of at least 2.00 on all college-level course work. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. Contact your advisor for information.
Graduate Program Cost
PROGRAM COSTS
Tuition and fees for graduate students taking nine credit hours are $3,669 for Texas residents and $7,341 for non-residents.
