This online program covers all four areas of coaching: physical, psychological, tactical and technical. The mix of theory and practice will give you the ability to impact your athletes’ mental and physical performance. The content of the courses is designed to help you apply your knowledge to a variety of sports and activities.
A study of the relationship of psychology to sport: topics include the history of sport psychology, application of learning principles, social psychology, personality variables, psychological assessment, youth sport, women in sport, the psychology of coaching, and performance enhancement.
Sports ConditioningHHPK 530
A study of the scientific basis of conditioning athletes. The focus will be on cardiovascular and resistance conditioning in the off-season, pre-season, and in-season. An introduction and utilization of appropriate equipment for cardiovascular conditioning and resistance training will be examined.
Nutrition & Optimal PerformanceHHPH 531
A study of nutrition as it relates to optimum performance and health. Nutrient needs, sources, functions, and interactions are reviewed according to the latest scientific findings. Principles of body conditioning are emphasized with attention to diet and lifestyle practices that promote health and decrease risks of nutrition-related diseases.
Sports CoachingHHPK 590
An analysis, comparison, and contrast of various teaching strategies and designs appropriate for the health and kinesiology teaching environment. Additional study will include pedagogical assessment techniques for health and kinesiology.
Join the United States Center for Coaching Excellence (USCCE), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing guidance and support to professional coach preparation and development in the United States. USCCE provides great practice guidelines and other resources.

Provisional Status
After you submit your application, you may be granted provisional status, which means you can enroll in one semester of courses. You will not be eligible for financial aid until you submit all of your documents and are accepted into the program.

Official Transcripts
Contact your previous institution(s) and request that they send your official transcripts to [email protected].
We recommend that you request transcripts for all of your academic work.
All international transcripts must be evaluated and the evaluation submitted to the Graduate School.
We accepts evaluations sent directly from the following Agencies.
If a normal evaluation is submitted, official original transcripts with all marksheets will still need to be submitted.
If a WES ICAP or equivalent is submitted, we will not need the official transcripts to be submitted separately.
