A&M-Commerce Announces Revised 2022 Football Schedule
COMMERCE – Texas A&M University-Commerce has announced a revised schedule for the 2022 football season, its inaugural season in NCAA Division I and the Southland Conference.
The revised schedule still features six home games at Ernest Hawkins Field at Memorial Stadium, with the final four home games coming in a span of five weeks to end the season. The Lions’ non-conference schedule remains the same, while the six-game Southland Conference schedule has been altered with the changes in membership within the conference.

In the non-conference portion of the schedule, A&M-Commerce hosts Lincoln (California) on September 1, travels to Tennessee Tech on September 10 and Sam Houston on September 17, welcomes North American on September 24, and closes out the season at home against Tennessee State on November 17.
The games against Tennessee Tech and Tennessee State are part of the scheduling alliance between the Southland Conference and the Ohio Valley Conference.
In the revised version of the Southland Conference schedule, the Lions play their first ever Southland Conference game on October 8 in Hammond, Louisiana, at Southeastern Louisiana. The series between the two prides of Lions is tied all-time at 4-4-1. The Lions return to the Bayou State the following week to take on McNeese in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on October 15. The Lions are 1-1 all-time against the Cowboys.
The first Division I conference game inside Ernest Hawkins Field at Memorial Stadium comes on Homecoming weekend against Houston Baptist on October 22. The Lions are 1-0 all-time against the Huskies. The Lions host Incarnate Word on October 29, the two teams meet three times between 2010-12 with the Cardinals winning all three meetings. This is the first meeting in Commerce for the two teams since 2011.
Northwestern State comes to east Texas on November 5 to conclude a three-game homestand. The Lions have 10 wins and two ties against the Demons in 29 previous meetings dating back to 1926.
The Lions close out the Southland Conference schedule on November 12 in Thibodaux, Louisiana, against Nicholls. This is the first meeting in program history against the Colonels.
