TAMUC Health and Human Performance Students Present at Regional Conference

Twelve students and three faculty from the Department of Health and Human Performance at A&M-Commerce attended and presented at the annual conference for the Texas chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine in Waco, Texas, Feb. 22-23.

Marshall Tousant, Raquel Cavazos, Francesca Aquilino, Shelby Gerner, Austin Riffe, Ernest Balderrama, Chaehyun Byun and Cheyenne Martinez—all graduate assistants in the ROAR-HP Lab at A&M-Commerce—presented posters with their research findings. Tousant's abstract on “super” shoes and their effect on jump performance was selected as a finalist in the master's category.

Additionally, undergraduate students Ethan-Riley Monaco, Hyun-Soo Kim and Remington Perry participated in the Student Bowl competition, with Katie Buckley serving as an alternate.

Faculty attendees included Drs. Michael Oldham, Sarah Mitchell and Vipa Bernhardt.
