TAMUC Staff Member Honored With Umoja Award for Graduate Students
Nicholas Brown, associate director of residence education at A&M-Commerce, recently won the 2023 Umoja Award for Graduate Students from the NASPA African American Knowledge Community (AAKC). The Umoja Award recognizes graduate students who display exemplary work and seek to integrate research and practice under principles of togetherness.
AAKC promotes awareness of issues unique to African American professionals working in higher education and student affairs. AAKC is a division of NASPA, a professional organization representing the field of student affairs.
Brown is currently a graduate student at the University of Alabama. He will graduate in 2023 with a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration.
