International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) serves as a welcoming presence for our international students and scholars at A&M-Commerce. Our staff is here to help you navigate in the U.S. and find your place on campus. We host both on- and off-campus events for international students and scholars. We also work with the A&M-Commerce and DFW communities to help you make the most of your time in the U.S. Our role is to provide international admissions and immigration support to international and exchange students seeking an education at A&M-Commerce.

As the spotlight shines on the runway, witness the latest trends and stunning designs from renowned fashion designers. Join us for an unforgettable night of elegance, creativity and cultural diversity, celebrating the beauty of talent and fashion on a global stage.
International Education Week
International Education Week (IEW) is an annual November event where A&M-Commerce hosts a number of different events, including International Movie Night.
Friday Night Lights: Learn and Play American Football!
Experience the adrenaline rush of Friday Night Lights as you learn and play American football! Join us for an action-packed evening of football drills, training sessions and friendly matches. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the sport, our expert coaches will guide you through the fundamentals and help you improve your skills. Don’t miss out on this thrilling opportunity to be part of the gridiron action!
International Graduation Reception
Celebrate the culmination of academic achievements at our International Graduation Reception! Join us for an elegant and joyous event as we honor the accomplishments of our graduating students from diverse cultures and backgrounds. This special evening will be filled with heartfelt speeches, recognition of academic excellence, and the chance to cherish memories with friends and faculty. Let’s come together to applaud our graduates and wish them success in their future endeavors.
Student Advising
We offer student advising services to assist you with your academic journey. Whether you have questions about course selection, degree requirements, or any other academic concerns, our advisors are here to help. We provide both drop-in advising and scheduled appointments for your convenience.
Drop-in Advising
You can visit us during our daily drop-in times without an appointment. Our advisors will assist you on a first-come, first-served basis. However, we highly recommend scheduling an appointment in advance to ensure that you receive dedicated time with an advisor. To schedule an appointment, please email us at [email protected] and provide us with more information about your needs.
Drop-in Hours:
Tuesday and Wednesday: 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1:30 to 4 p.m.
Thursday: Limited advising, mostly case by case
Due to reconstruction in the Ferguson building, the Office of International Programs has been relocated to the first floor of the Library, Room 156. You may schedule in-person or Zoom appointments with us by emailing [email protected].

Our Services
Our office provides the following services to both international and exchange students:

- Various visa categories, including F-1/F-2, J-1/J-2, H-1B/H-4, and TN
- Cultural adjustment and personal matters
- Assistance with international student health insurance
- Workshops for international and exchange students
- Community and campus outreach activities and events
- International mentoring program
- Liaison between students and institutional departments or government agencies
