AWARDS AND RECOGNITION

The first responsibility of any member is to their academics. We would like to recognize our chapters from each council who obtained the highest cumulative GPA for the spring 2019 semester.

  • College Panhellenic Council: Chi Omega
  • Interfraternity Council: Delta Sigma Phi
  • Multicultural Greek Council: Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc.
  • National Pan-Hellenic Council: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Chapters are encouraged to reach beyond the fraternity and sorority community to include the outside community in programs and events. This award seeks to recognize chapters that have thought “outside of the box” and included the A&M-Commerce or local community in events or programs.

  • Fall 2019 Chapter Event of the Year: Chi Omega and Sigma Chi for their program, “Owloween”

Chapters are encouraged to reach beyond what is mandated for new member education, striving for the continual development of members at all stages in the membership. This award seeks to recognize a chapter for a member development program that shows continual development of leadership and civic responsibility of membership as a whole.

  • Fall 2019 Outstanding Member Development Program: Gamma Phi Beta for their program, “Loyalty Circle”

Community service and philanthropy are core components to the fraternity and sorority experience, allowing us the opportunity to give back and make a positive impact in our world. This award seeks to recognize a chapter that goes above and beyond to educate the community on social issues and give back through an outstanding program.

  • Fall 2019 Outstanding Philanthropy/Community Service Program: Sigma Gammer Rho Sorority, Incorporated for their “Making it Rain for St. Jude” program.

This award seeks to recognize a chapter that sets the standard for the fraternity and sorority community. Nominees should show excellence in scholarship, service, leadership, and community, in addition to upholding the values of the individual organization.

  • Fall 2019 Chapter of the Year: Chi Omega

This award recognizes a new member/neophyte who has taken the initiative to be involved in his/her chapter or the fraternity and sorority community.

  • Kenzi-Lou Bramblett from Gamma Phi Beta

This award recognizes members that are seen as pillars of our community. Nominees should embody Greek ideals and have left a lasting impact on their chapter.

  • Cameron Gentile, Gamma Phi Beta
  • Arrion Ellis, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated

This award recognizes members that uphold the ideals of scholarship, leadership, service, and community, in addition to consistently living the values of their individual chapter.

  • Destiney House, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated
  • Erick Morales Sartillo, Pi Kappa Alpha

This award recognizes a chapter President that has devoted time and energy to bettering the chapter and its individual members. Nominees should exemplify the chapter values, show consistent support beyond their duties as President and challenge the chapter to reach new heights.

  • Fall 2019 Outstanding Chapter President of the Year: Baleigh Rhodes, Chi Omega

This award recognizes a faculty or staff member at A&M-Commerce that does not serve in an official advisory capacity but has devoted time and energy to bettering the chapter and its individual members. Nominees should exemplify Greek ideals, show consistent support to the fraternity and sorority community, and evidence of advocacy for the fraternal experience at A&M-Commerce.

  • Fall 2019 Greek Supporter of the Year: Elvis Dang and Matt Bentley from RSC Operations
