Robert McWhorter is an A&M-Commerce’s technical services advisor and has served on the committee responsible for assembling the Vigil Flame Memorial since 1989. He is a former Pride Marching Band member who occasionally plays Taps on trumpet at sundown for the Veterans Vigil. As a member of the Veterans Vigil Committee, Robert has learned from and gained more respect and admiration for all who have served in our nation's armed forces. His father-in-law, Larry Ratliff, is a Vietnam veteran (USAF Lt. Colonel – Retired).
