What You Will Learn

The A&M-Commerce MBA with a minor prepares you for positions that demand analytic and strategic leadership solutions to an interrelated set of economic, ethical, and environmental issues. You will build marketable skills related to accounting, finance, management and marketing tools and techniques. The program stresses practical application through the use of case studies and other experiential learning methods as well as collaboration with members of diverse teams, including partnerships with the business community.

Minors

The College of Business offers several minors that can be added to any master’s program offered at A&M-Commerce. For majors outside of business (sciences, education, agriculture, etc.), you must receive major program advisor approval. Fill out the Request for a Minor Form and submit it to your academic advisor. (International students can add a minor as long as it doesn't infringe on their visa requirements, extending their stay in the US.)

Course Requirements for Minors

Prerequisite courses ACCT 501, ACCT 502, ECO 501, ECO 502, FIN 501, MGT 501 and MKT 501 cannot be considered as electives in any graduate program in business. The general MBA requires the completion of six hours of electives. If a minor is desired, all elective hours should be taken in the minor area as outlined below.

Take at least four Accounting courses, including ACCT 525.

Choose one from AG 505 or AEC 550 and choose three from the following Agricultural Economics courses:

  • AEC 530 Agricultural Production Economics
  • AEC 540 Advanced Theory of Demand and Price Analysis
