Offered through the technology management program at A&M-Commerce, the Technology Leadership graduate certificate affirms your completion of a 12-semester-credit-hour program of graduate-level courses focused on leadership within the broader field of technology management. This certificate is open to graduate students in any major or exclusive of a major declaration. Courses for the certificate are offered fully online and can be completed in as few as two semesters.
Study emerging technologies and the management, ethical and societal challenges they pose to engineering and technology organizations. Gain insight into how managers assess emerging technologies, share organizational strategies, make investment decisions and create organizational structures that can effectively compete in the global market. Extensive research and writing assignments are required. Prerequisites: TMGT 595 (or corequisite), or permission of the department head.
Leadership in Engineering and TechnologyTMGT 512
Explore the leadership attributes, theories and concepts found within the contemporary fields of engineering and commercial construction, and within technology-intensive enterprises. You will be required to conduct extensive reading, research and writing during this course of study. Prerequisites: TMGT 595 (or corequisite), or permission of the department head.
Engineering and Technology Project ManagementTMGT 514
Study techniques and applications for managing projects with emphasis on project management planning, network scheduling, project graphics and other related topics. Prerequisites: TMGT 595 (or corequisite), or permission of the department head.
Project Management Tools and TechniquesTMGT 515
Dive into advanced study of project management tools and techniques needed for technology managers with an emphasis on four components of project management: pricing and estimating, risk management, cost analysis, and quality management. You will conduct case studies and address technology management problems by utilizing project management tools and techniques during the course of study. Extensive research and writing assignments are also required. Prerequisites: TMGT 595 (or corequisite), or permission of the department head.

Provisional Status
After you submit your application, you may be granted provisional status, which means you can enroll in one semester of courses. You will not be eligible for financial aid until you submit all of your documents and are accepted into the program.

We recommend that you request transcripts for all of your academic work.
If your transcripts are already on file with the Graduate School or if your degree was awarded by Texas A&M University-Commerce, you do not need to submit new transcripts.

If you are admitted to the Graduate Certificate program, but not concurrently admitted into the M.S. in Technology Management degree program, you will need to contact the program coordinator, Jason Lee Davis, at [email protected] or your graduate enrollment specialist, Lora Gibson, at [email protected] for permits to enroll in the required courses. The certificate courses that are also core courses in the TMGT master’s program have TMGT 595 as a pre-/co-requisite course requirement and a permit must be manually entered for you for each course to override this requirement and enable your registration. If you are already accepted into the M.S. in Technology Management degree program and have already registered for or taken TMGT 595, you do not need to request specific permits to register for these courses.

To be eligible for the Technology Leadership graduate certificate program, you must be admitted to the Graduate School. Coursework must be completed at A&M-Commerce with a minimum 3.0 GPA in all courses used for this certificate. No substitutions.
